The Segal Center presents an all-day celebration of Colombian feminist, social reformer and political activist, Patricia Ariza – an artist who has built bridges connecting theatre and society, theatre and politics, theatre and gender, on a daily basis.
Ms. Ariza is a producer, director, actress, playwright and poet whose work on the front lines for justice and social change in Colombia, South America is legendary. A co-founder of the experimental el Teatro La Candelaria, Ariza has focused on women artists and the social movement for the past 24 years, producing massive public performances that join professional artists with the victims – particularly women – of the enduring violent conflicts in Colombia.
