Bridging the gap between the academic and performing arts communities through dynamic public programs and digital initiatives that are free and open to all.
The Segal Center, in collaboration with En Garde’s Anne Hamburger, invites all New York theatre and performance artists to present their most outrageous, seemingly unproducible vison for a new work. Following Brecht’s dictum that new times need new forms of theatre we ask the New York theatre community how it is imagining the future for theatre in a cosmopolitan metropolis in a time of war after the devastation COVID crisis.
Manifestos are welcome. 5 minute slots for each presentation. 18 slots available. Panelists will include Mia Yoo (La MaMa), Mark Russell (Under the Radar) Khady Kamara (Perelman Performing Arts Center), Jay Wegman (NYU Kimmel Center), Nigel Smith, The Flea Theater, Sade Lythcott, and others. (TBC)
