Puppetry, one of the world’s oldest forms, is now at the vanguard of cross-disciplinary and post-dramatic performance. Theorizing this kind of performance can also be a multidisciplinary project. The Segal Center welcomes scholars and artists from the Puppetry and Postdramatic Performance conference at the University of Connecticut-Storrs to continue their dialogue in this public event. Guests include Basil Jones and Janni Younge, Handspring Puppet Company; Jane Taylor, University of Chicago/University of Johannesburg (South Africa); Matthew Cohen, Royal Holloway, University of London; Ida Hledíková, Academy of Performing Arts Bratislava (Slovakia); Janie Geiser, Cotsen Center for Puppetry and the Arts, California Institute of the Arts; and Claudia Orenstein (moderator), Hunter College and the Graduate Center, CUNY.
