About the event

Book Celebration / Global Theatre from the Cherry Collective: New Plays in Translation with playwrights Gabrielle Chapdelaine (Quebec), Rebekka Kricheldorf (Germany), David Paquet (Quebec), Frédéric Sonntag (France).

Monday, Dec 7th 6:30PM

Join us for the celebration of Global Theatre from the Cherry Collective: New Plays in Translation. For a decade Samuel Buggeln and the Cherry Artists' Collective in Ithaca, NY have sought out and developed new and unusual plays from across the globe that speak to English-language artists and audiences.

This collection gathers together six award-winning new plays in translation hailing from Belgium to El Salvador, from Mexico and Germany to Quebec. Each of the translations has been refined through a full professional rehearsal and production process, and each play sparks an important exploration into the diverse ways in which contemporary issues are currently being explored by great theatre writers from around the world. With Samuel Buggeln and readings of excerpts from Gabrielle Chapdelaine (Quebec), Rebekka Kricheldorf (Germany), David Paquet (Quebec), Frédéric Sonntag (France)—with playwrights present. Moderated by Frank Hentschker.
