Join Eric Sluyter and Jennifer Tipton for an evening focused on the sound and lighting design of L.S.D., the iconic production by the Wooster Group. Scheduled for a restaging in January 2027, the performance unfolds across four distinct parts, framed by the narrative perspective of Timothy Leary’s children’s babysitter: Part One: A panel of men delivers readings from Timothy Leary’s writings alongside philosophical texts and counterculture manifestos from the 1960s. Part Two: A depiction of the Salem witch trials is staged through the lens of a typical day within the House Un-American Activities Committee. Part Three: The cast re-enacts footage recorded while rehearsing the same play under the influence of LSD. Part Four: A segment from the debate between Timothy Leary and G. Gordon Liddy, titled “The Stage of the Mind Versus the Mind of the State,” is re-created.
