About the event

Join us for an evening investigating classical Greek theatre and its resonance with today’s world. Reading Greek Tragedy Online (RGTO) project is a podcast series featuring staged performances of ancient Greek drama developed and hosted by classicist and Graduate Center CUNY Provost Joel Christensen, alongside actor-director Paul O'Mahony. Since its launch in 2020, RGTO has brought Greek tragedy and comedy to a worldwide digital audience through fresh translations, combining professional actors with expert scholarly commentary. Next to conversations the evening will include readings from Thucydides, Plato, and Euripides, as well as an excerpt from an updated adaptation of the Iliad.

With Joel Christensen and Paul O'Mahony, moderated by Frank Hentschker.
